The 2nd Annual Lion Heart Olympics: An Event for the Community
The 2nd Annual Lion Heart Olympics took place on August 26th and was a rousing success! The activity-filled day started around 12 pm and featured 12 children but quickly grew to 30 child athletes as the day progressed. Involvement from the City of Cohoes Police Department and several other volunteers allowed for a wonderful community building experience — full of Basketball, Volleyball, Bike Racing and several other games that the young athletes enjoyed. A medal ceremony took place after each event, and it was a great day for the competing children and all onlookers. The athletes competed and were taught the importance of a healthy lifestyle and exercise. Lunches were graciously supplied by local restaurants and businesses, and refreshments were donated by Lion Heart Employees. The day wrapped up around 5pm with big smiles — all athletes were definitely winners – each with the hearts of a lion.
